Troubling Times for America
"In the year 2008 we have watched three areas heat up dramatically when it comes to standing for our Biblical faith. Number one, there is an assault on the authority of the Word of God beginning with the very first verse as it pertains to Creationism. What we're watching is evolution has captured the schools and has captured the Universities. There is this tension that anything that is not evolutionary is now being cast aside as unscientific or non-acceptable. We're watching it in the schools and workplaces," explained David Gibbs III.
"The second area we're watching is an all out assault on Biblical and moral values as part of this gay, lesbian, transgender agenda that is sweeping the nation. The hostility against those who say, 'Wait a minute. Isn't there a right? Isn't there a wrong? Isn't there a better way? Doesn't the Bible speak to this?' And the gay/lesbian agenda is wanting to force its way into the schools, into the businesses and even into churches."
"We’re watching those two areas and then it goes into the third area where there’s an all out assault on the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. We're watching where in America right now saying you believe in God or religion and/or that you go to church is okay as long as you say that there are lots of ways to Heaven. But the minute you say there's only One way to Heaven then all of a sudden people become intolerant and they almost become hateful toward the gospel message," said Gibbs.
As the founder of the Christian Law Association, David Gibbs is well versed on the legal issues facing our nation. He has been a warrior in the midst of some of the most controversial battles heating up in this country.
"But what we have right now is a culture that says there is no God so that, all of sudden eliminates a starting point. And then they say, ‘Since there is no God or if He is out there He is unknown to us because He hasn’t revealed Himself’. So, now there is no authority in the word of God. Which means what? It means chaos," said Gibbs.
Truths are being distorted and the moral backbone of the United States is on the fast track to disappearing. Some go so far as to say We are entering the early stages of what could become persecution and outright criminalization of Christianity if it is not exposed and fought vigorously by all freedom-loving people….David is one of those fighters.
"That’s why people are living in this moral nightmare. That’s why marriages get blown apart, children get abused, people have these empty or unfulfilled…it’s all about the next party or the next dollar and they’re living these empty, sad lives because they’re starting from the wrong perspective. And I really believe that one of the problems we’re facing in our country is Christian people have not done a good job at passing their faith to the next generation. Not just salvation. We clearly need to win our children to Christ but Biblical values. Where they say, ‘I’m adopting by decision the Biblical faith of my mother and father’."
So with all of the bleak and dark issues facing our nation, David offers the hope that comes from the very Gospel message in the Bible.
"But when you start from the viewpoint that there is a God, He’s revealed Himself in His word then the politics and legal arguments, Christian living and day to day become much easier because you’re resting in the peace and security of the word of God. Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. He is the hope for all eternity. He is the answer for the universal dilemma. I’m an attorney, everyone is born in their sins. Because we’re born in our sins we’re separated from the Holy God who made us. God can’t look on sin. So, we have this big sin-debt that we cannot pay. Jesus Christ said, ‘In love I will pay your debt. I will stand on your behalf. I will go before the Father and I will pay the price and bring you into fellowship with my Father!’ Jesus Christ is the very son of God, He’s the Savior and the Answer," explained Gibbs.
"I believe Jesus Christ is America’s only hope."
